Let Us Help Bring Your Imagination to Reality
Alberta Designed, and Built
Gerald Huber began life on January 7th, 1979, as the 3rd son, 5th child, in a family of 6, born to a Dairy family in Southern ON. He joined a construction crew in 1998, and rough framed houses and condominiums, until moving to AB in May of 2000. He found work with a local contractor, framing custom homes around the Brooks Ab area that first summer. In November of 2000, he made a career change, and was hired by Celtic Pride Welding of Brooks AB Welding. Here he quickly proved himself a capable tradesperson, having the skill set learned in carpentry, and great practicality that can only come from a childhood on the farm. He was signed to the AB welding apprenticeship program in January of 2001, and completed schooling in May of 2004, graduating as an interprovincially ticketed Journeyman Welder. The 6 years spent at Celtic Pride were the building blocks for his career, having experience in everything from basic repairs, to fully custom, ground up oilfield related, service equipment builds. In February 2006, he set out on his own. The next number of years went by rapidly, during which he took his B-Pressure test in both mild steel, and stainless, as well as achieving status as a CWB welding inspector, and a NACE coatings inspector. He spent time in Saskatchewan from 2008 - 2010, welding, and running crews for Carson Energy, under his own company, Rat Race Welding. From 2010 - 2016, he shelved his company in order to partner with 2 other businessmen. The new venture was called Cinch Welding, with a subsidiary Cinch Sandblasting and Paint. The point of the merging of minds, was to create the ability to service large clients. And they did just that. Actively pursuing working relationships with Shell Canada, Enbridge, Syncrude, Suncor, Ledcor, Wilbros, Tartan, Clearstream, Carson Energy, Maverick, and Big Country, just to name a few. The experience gained through this time, in client relations, and large scale project management, is irreplaceable. In spring of 2016, by a joint decision of business partners, due to economic duress, Cinch Welding was closed. After taking some time to regroup, he unshelved Rat Race Welding, and has spent the last several years exercising his 20 some years of fabrication expertise, to build everything from one of a kind, high end functional art, to the most practical of day to day items. His clients include local Well Servicing Companies, Reclamation Companies, Asphalt and Aggregate Companies, Breweries, Water Haulers and Agriculture, as well as individuals from friends to CEOs. Every piece is treated with a meticulous attention to detail. I simply hope this brief overview gives you a comprehensive insight into his level of expertise, passion, and experience.
